Premier League Player Dies After Armed Robbery Attack

Tragedy has struck the Ghana Premier League following the death of Berekum Chelsea forward Dominic Frimpong, who succumbed to a gunshot wound sustained during a highway robbery attack, BSNSports.com.ng reports
The incident occurred along the Bibiani Goaso road as Berekum Chelsea were returning from their league fixture against Samartex.
According to reports, armed robbers ambushed the team bus, forcing players and officials to abandon the vehicle and flee for safety amid gunfire.
Several members of the team were said to have sustained injuries during the attack, which has sent shockwaves across the Ghanaian football community.
Frimpong, who was seriously wounded in the incident, was rushed to a nearby hospital but was unfortunately pronounced dead on arrival.
The forward had only recently joined Berekum Chelsea on loan from Aduana FC and had made a notable contribution to the team, scoring two goals in 13 appearances this season.
Authorities are yet to release an official statement on the attack, while calls are expected to grow for improved security measures for clubs traveling across the country.
