Four minutes later, relentless pressing from Korea DPR forced another mistake, allowing Pak Rye-yong to double the lead with a composed finish.

The Netherlands’ defensive woes continued before halftime when an under-hit back pass led to a calamitous third. Goalkeeper Maren Groothoff’s hurried clearance ricocheted off Ri Ui-gyong and into the net in the 42nd minute, sealing the contest before the break.

Korea DPR controlled proceedings throughout the second half, displaying composure and tactical discipline to see out a flawless campaign and retain their crown.

With this triumph, Korea DPR have now lifted the U-17 Women’s World Cup trophy four times, adding to their titles from 2008, 2016, and 2024. The Netherlands, meanwhile, became the fifth European nation to earn a medal in the competition’s history, joining Spain, France, Germany, and Italy.

 “I’m extremely satisfied. Our players played the final wonderfully. It’s hard to express this joy in words,” said Ri Ui-gyong, named Player of the Match. “This is also my first championship, so I’ll continue to work hard and aim for even greater results.”

Forward Kim Won-sim, who collected both the adidas Silver Ball and Silver Boot, added: “We’ll keep working hard and aim to lift the World Cup trophy for the fifth time. I’m certain of it.”
