Rivers Hoopers Sign Omar Abada For NPBL Final 8

Rivers Hoopers have strengthened their squad for the 2026 Nigeria Premier Basketball League (NPBL) Final 8 with the signing of experienced Tunisian playmaker Omar Abada, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Abada, a serial winner on the African basketball scene, joins the Port Harcourt-based side with a wealth of experience as Hoopers target a return to the summit of Nigerian basketball.

The 2x AfroBasket champion, who won the continental title with Tunisia in 2017 and 2021, has also represented his country at two Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024.

The veteran guard is a three-time Tunisian League champion and was named to the AfroBasket 2021 All-Tournament Team.

Known for his playmaking ability, defensive intensity and clutch shooting, Abada is expected to add speed, basketball IQ and leadership to the Rivers Hoopers squad during the crucial Final 8 phase.

Rivers Hoopers will be hoping Abada's experience and winning mentality can help them achieve their objective of reclaiming the NPBL title.
