Serie A: Sarri Backs Dele-Bashiru For Key Role At Lazio

Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri has thrown his full support behind Super Eagles midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, insisting the Nigerian will be an important asset for the Biancocelesti in the 2025/26 season despite his limited involvement last term, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Dele-Bashiru endured a challenging debut campaign at the Stadio Olimpico under former coach Marco Baroni, sparking speculation over his future.
The 25-year-old joined Lazio from Turkish Super Lig side Hatayspor last summer after an impressive spell and went on to record five goals and three assists in 29 appearances.
Sarri, however, has expressed confidence in the midfielder’s potential to flourish under his management.
“Dele-Bashiru is a very strong guy who, if he manages to learn a few moves, can give us a big hand,” Sarri told Pazzidifanta.
The endorsement appears to have ended doubts about Dele-Bashiru’s future, easing fears that the Italian’s appointment and tactical reshuffle might lead to his departure.
The Super Eagles star is currently in preseason training with the rest of the Lazio squad in Italy as they gear up for the new campaign and adapt to Sarri’s playing philosophy.
