Shocker!: Eto’o Loses Key Ally Two Months To FECAFOOT Election

With just over two months to the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) elective assembly, president Samuel Eto’o has suffered a setback following the resignation of one of his close associates, Félix Mbigha, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Mbigha, who headed the North West Regional League and oversaw South West League activities, submitted his resignation ahead of the November 29, 2025 polls.

Although he did not directly blame Eto’o, Mbigha cited persistent interference that, he said, made it impossible for him to carry out his responsibilities.

 “This decision is because I have been unable to discharge my duties in the North West and South West regions because of constant influence that hinders us from freely enjoying football,” he stated.

Mbigha’s exit mirrors that of his predecessor, Henry Njalla Quan, who resigned in 2023 while criticising a lack of transparency in FECAFOOT’s handling of certain commercial contracts.

Njalla Quan even accused Eto’o of ignoring multiple warnings about alleged “death threats” from employees, executives, and partners.

Despite losing another prominent supporter, Eto’o is still expected to contest for a second term as FECAFOOT president, even though the country’s Sports Ministry has barred him from seeking re-election.
