Show Up For Super Falcons Too - Alozie Urges Fans

Super Falcons defender Michelle Alozie has called on Nigerian football fans to extend the same energy and passion they show the Super Eagles to the women’s national team, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Houston Dash of the American NWSL star took to social media to appeal to supporters, stressing that the Falcons also need the stands filled with cheers and encouragement.

“All the fans showing up for the Super Eagles game, don’t forget to show up to the Super Falcons too,” Alozie posted on her X handle. 

The Super Falcons, nine-time African champions, are set to continue their quest for another continental crown as they face the Squirrels of Benin in the qualifiers for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The crucial fixture is scheduled for October, with the exact date and venue to be confirmed by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Alozie’s call comes at a time when the women’s team has consistently delivered on the continent, yet often plays in front of half-empty stadiums compared to the men’s side.

Many fans and analysts believe greater support for the Falcons could further boost their performances and morale, especially as they aim to defend their dominance in Africa and secure a ticket to the next Women’s AFCON.

With the team’s impressive showing at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, where they reached the Round of 16 and earned global praise, Alozie insists it’s time for Nigerians to recognize and celebrate the Falcons as much as the Super Eagles.

The October clash against Benin will be the first step in their WAFCON 2026 campaign, and Alozie is confident that with the backing of passionate home fans, the Falcons can soar to another historic triumph.
