South Africa's Mosimane Emerges As Highest-Paid African Coach In History

South African tactician Pitso Mosimane has been confirmed as the highest-paid African coach in history, following details of his lucrative contracts in the Middle East and North Africa, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Mosimane reportedly earned a staggering $368,000 per month during his stint with Al Wahda, where he was in charge from June 2023 to November 2023. 

The short-term deal further underlined his status as one of the most sought-after managers on the continent.

Before his move to the United Arab Emirates, the former Mamelodi Sundowns boss enjoyed a successful spell at Egyptian giants Al Ahly between 2020 and 2022, earning $1.44 million annually. 

During his time in Cairo, Mosimane added multiple domestic and continental titles to his résumé, enhancing his global reputation.

He later moved to Saudi Arabia to manage Al Ahli from 2022 to 2023, where he earned a reported $1.66 million.

Mosimane’s earnings across Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE not only reflect his tactical pedigree and success but also mark a significant milestone for African coaches on the global stage.
