 Nigerian internationals Paul Onuachu and Chibuike Nwaiwu delivered standout performances as Trabzonspor edged arch-rivals Galatasaray 2-1 in a thrilling Turkish Süper Lig clash on Saturday at Papara Park, BSNSports.com.ng reports 

The hosts could not have asked for a better start.

 Just four minutes into the match, Super Eagles striker Onuachu found the net with clinical precision, firing Trabzonspor into an early lead and sending the home fans into raptures.279df0

Galatasaray, however, showed their fighting spirit after the interval. 

In the 48th minute, defender Wilfried Singo pounced on a defensive lapse in the Trabzonspor backline to equalise, restoring parity and setting up a tense second half.

Trabzonspor refused to settle for a draw. 

Midway through the second period, Nwaiwu rose to the occasion in the 67th minute slotting home what proved to be the decisive winner and sparking wild celebrations among the home supporters.

The Nigerian duo were the architects of the victory, with Onuachu’s early strike and Nwaiwu’s crucial second-half goal proving pivotal in securing all three points. 

The win keeps Trabzonspor firmly in the title conversation, boosting their momentum in a highly competitive Süper Lig season.
