Super Eagles Midfielder Targets Slovenian League Glory

Nigerian midfielder Papa Daniel has declared his ambition to win the Slovenian PrvaLiga title with NK Celje, expressing confidence in his team’s ability to maintain their fine form, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Daniel has been instrumental in Celje’s impressive start to the 2025/26 campaign, helping the club remain unbeaten after 13 matches and sit eight points clear of second-placed Bravo with 32 points.

Since joining from Niger Tornadoes during the summer transfer window, the 23-year-old has quickly become a key figure in the squad, making nine league appearances and contributing one assist.

His commanding presence in midfield has earned him praise across Slovenia. Speaking ahead of Celje’s clash with Aluminij, Daniel reaffirmed his determination to keep pushing for the title.

“We’re in a very good position, and I can’t wait to lift the Slovenian league title with Celje,” he said.

“But we know we must stay 100 per cent focused on every match. The team is full of confidence, and we’ll take it one step and one game at a time because our common goal is to finish the season as champions.”

Daniel’s consistent performances have quickly made him one of the standout Nigerian exports in European football this season.
