Super Eagles Players Protest Unpaid Appearance Fees After Turkey Friendlies

Players of the Super Eagles have expressed dissatisfaction following the alleged non-payment of appearance fees after recent international friendlies in Turkey, BSNSports.com.mg reports.

Nigeria recorded a 2–1 victory over Iran before playing out a 2–2 draw against Jordan national football team in Antalya. The matches formed part of a four-nation invitational tournament organized by the Jordan Football Association.

Despite the fixtures reportedly attracting appearance fees payable to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), players are said to have yet to receive their entitlements.

A source close to the team indicated that the situation has led to renewed frustration within the squad.

 “The players were disappointed again with the NFF. They feel there have been too many promises without fulfillment,” the source said.

It is understood that each player is entitled to $2,000 per match for their participation in the friendlies.

Top officials of the NFF, including president Ibrahim Gusau, Technical Committee chairman Sharif Inuwa Ahlan, and Secretary General Mohammed Sanusi, were present in Turkey during the matches.

The development is the latest in a series of disputes over player payments involving the national team.
