Victor Boniface has expressed confidence in former coach Xabi Alonso following reports linking the Spaniard with the managerial position at Chelsea, BSNSports .com.ng reports.

The Nigerian striker, who worked under Alonso during their successful spell at Bayern Leverkusen praised the former midfielder’s football philosophy and managerial qualities in a post shared on social media.

“Don’t worry, you go enjoy better football, he too sabi,” Boniface wrote, expressing his belief that Alonso possesses the tactical ability to improve Chelsea’s performances.

Boniface enjoyed one of the most successful periods of his club career under Alonso at Bayer Leverkusen, where the pair helped the German club secure a historic Bundesliga title. Alonso’s attacking style, tactical flexibility and ability to develop young players earned widespread praise during his time in Germany.

The Spaniard, a former Liverpool FC and Spain midfielder, has rapidly established himself as one of Europe’s most highly rated young coaches following his achievements in the Bundesliga.

Chelsea’s interest in Alonso comes amid the club’s continued search for stability after several inconsistent seasons in the Premier League. The London club has struggled to consistently challenge for major honours in recent years despite significant investment in players and coaching staff.

Boniface’s endorsement is likely to excite Chelsea supporters familiar with Alonso’s possession-based and attacking brand of football. During his spell at Bayer Leverkusen, Alonso transformed the club into one of Europe’s most entertaining teams while also improving the performances of several young talents.

The 24-year-old Boniface remains one of Nigeria’s brightest attacking stars and has continued to attract attention with his performances in European football since joining Bayer Leverkusen.
