Super Falcons Defender, Glory Ogbonna Joins Israeli Champions FC Kiryat Gat

Nigeria and Super Falcons defender, Glory Ogbonna, has completed a move to Israeli women’s club FC Kiryat Gat on a one-year deal, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Ogbonna joins the Israeli champions from Turkish giants Besiktas following the expiration of her contract.

The versatile defender, who previously featured for Nigeria Women’s Football League side Edo Queens, brings a wealth of experience to her new team.

FC Kiryat Gat are the reigning champions of the Israeli women’s league and are set to begin their UEFA Women’s Champions League campaign against Turkish side Fomget on Saturday, August 2.

Ogbonna is in contention to make her debut in the crucial fixture.

Speaking after sealing the move, a delighted Ogbonna expressed her excitement, saying she is eager to make her first appearance and contribute to the team’s ambitions.

“I’m happy to be here. I can’t wait to make my debut and hopefully win trophies with this great club,” she said.

Ogbonna has represented Nigeria at major tournaments, including the FIFA Women’s World Cup and WAFCON, and is expected to strengthen the Kiryat Gat backline.
