Trabzonspor have reportedly placed a €35 million valuation on Nigerian defender Chibuike Nwaiwu as interest in the centre-back continues to grow ahead of the summer transfer window, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The 22-year-old joined the Turkish club from Austrian side Wolfsberger AC during the January transfer window and has quickly become one of the team's standout performers.

Nwaiwu enjoyed an impressive second half of the season, contributing three goals and one assist in 16 league appearances while establishing himself as a key figure in Trabzonspor's defence. He also played a significant role in the club's successful Turkish Cup campaign.

According to Turkish publication Taka Gazete, Trabzonspor are prepared to consider offers for the Nigerian international, but only if interested clubs meet their €35 million valuation.

While the club regard Nwaiwu as an important part of their long-term project, reports suggest they have already begun contingency planning in the event of his departure. Gambian defender Abubacarr Sedi Kinteh, currently with Tromsø IL, has reportedly been identified as a potential replacement, with Trabzonspor said to be considering a €7 million move for the youngster.

Among the clubs monitoring Nwaiwu's situation is Premier League side Fulham. The London club are believed to be assessing defensive reinforcements ahead of the new season and could view the Nigerian as a suitable addition to their squad.

A potential move to Craven Cottage may also appeal to Nwaiwu, where he would have the opportunity to link up with fellow Nigerian internationals Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey.

Despite the speculation, Trabzonspor remain in a strong negotiating position and have made it clear that any transfer will depend on a club matching their €35 million asking price.

Having made an immediate impact since arriving in Turkey, Nwaiwu's performances have elevated his profile, with the coming weeks expected to determine whether he remains at Trabzonspor or secures a move to one of Europe's top leagues.
