Libyan Premier League heavyweights Al Ittihad have officially completed the signing of Nigerian midfielder Clement Ikenna, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
As previously revealed, the 26-year-old defensive midfielder has been the subject of intense transfer speculation in recent weeks, with several North African clubs vying for his signature.
After weighing his options, Ikenna opted for a move to the Tripoli-based side, putting pen to paper on a two-year contract.
Ikenna, a former Nigerian youth international, is expected to add steel and composure to Al Ittihad’s midfield as they prepare for both domestic and continental campaigns this season.
Club officials described the player as a “valuable addition,” citing his experience and versatility as key reasons for the deal.
The transfer is part of Al Ittihad’s broader effort to strengthen its squad ahead of the 2025/26 Libyan Premier League and CAF Confederation Cup.
Ikenna began his professional career in Nigeria before enjoying spells in Europe and North Africa, where his tenacity and ball-winning ability earned him recognition.
The move to Al Ittihad is seen as a fresh opportunity for the midfielder to showcase his talent on one of the region’s biggest stages.
The Nigerian expressed delight after sealing the deal, pledging to give his best for the club and its supporters.
“I’m happy to join a great team like Al Ittihad,” he said.
“I look forward to helping the club achieve its ambitions.”
Al Ittihad will unveil Ikenna to their fans later this week, with the player expected to link up with his new teammates immediately as they continue preparations for the new season.
