Transfer Update: Siwelele FC Signs Nigerian Striker Chibuike Ohizu
Sampson Adedeji
South African Premier Division side Siwelele FC have strengthened their attack with the signing of Nigerian forward Chibuike Ohizu from Sekhukhune United, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Ohizu, 28, had slipped down the pecking order at Babina Noko and was strongly tipped for an exit as the 2025/26 season gathered pace.
A reported misunderstanding with Sekhukhune coach Eric Tinkler saw him relegated to training with the club’s Diski Challenge team.
Talks over a loan move were held with Golden Arrows and Siwelele before both parties agreed on a permanent solution.
Despite penning a two-year contract extension at the end of last season, which tied him to Sekhukhune until June 2027, uncertainty about his future persisted.
He also came close to joining Algerian giants MC Alger last term, but negotiations fell through.
Ohizu joined Sekhukhune in 2020 from Jomo Cosmos, now competing in the ABC Motsepe League.
During his time with Babina Noko, he scored 30 goals and provided three assists in 117 appearances.
