Super Eagles striker, Cyriel Dessers, has completed a sensational move to Greek powerhouse Panathinaikos, signing a three-year contract with the Athens-based club, BSNSports.com.ng reports

Dessers, who has been a key figure for Rangers FC in the Scottish Premiership, leaves the Ibrox side after establishing himself as one of their reliable forwards in recent campaigns.

His goals and tireless work rate made him a fan favourite in Scotland, but the 29-year-old has now opted for a new challenge in Greece.

According to reports, Panathinaikos moved swiftly to secure the striker as part of their ambition to strengthen their squad ahead of both domestic and European campaigns.

The Nigerian international will be expected to bring his vast experience and proven goal-scoring ability to the club’s frontline.

Dessers, who has previously played in the Dutch Eredivisie, Belgian Pro League, Serie A, and Scottish Premiership, brings a wealth of continental experience to Panathinaikos.

He was the top scorer of the UEFA Europa Conference League in the 2021/22 season while playing for Feyenoord, a feat that further highlights his pedigree in European football.

For the Super Eagles, the striker has been a regular feature, providing depth and competition in Nigeria’s attacking department.

His move to Panathinaikos is expected to keep him in top form ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Panathinaikos officially unveiled Dessers on Monday, with the forward expressing delight at the move and his eagerness to get started with the club.
