Transfer Update: Super Falcons Forward Moves To Mexico

Super Falcons striker Uchenna Kanu has completed a move to Mexican side Cruz Azul Femenil, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The 28-year-old joined Cruz Azul on a free transfer after mutually parting ways with National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) outfit Racing Louisville FC, where she spent the last two seasons.

Kanu’s switch marks a return to Mexico, having previously featured for Tigres UANL in the Liga MX Femenil. 

During her time with the Monterrey-based club, the Nigerian forward enjoyed a successful spell, winning the Liga MX Femenil title and scoring 20 goals in 30 league appearances.

The prolific striker is expected to add experience and attacking firepower to Cruz Azul Femenil as they prepare for the upcoming campaign.

Kanu remains an integral member of Nigeria’s Super Falcons, bringing her international pedigree and goal-scoring instincts to her new club in Mexico.
