Two Games, Four Goals: Osimhen’s Red-Hot Start Continues In Turkey

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen continued his sensational start to the Turkish Süper Lig season on Friday, scoring twice and providing an assist as Galatasaray cruised to a commanding 4-0 away victory over Erzurumspor FK, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Nigeria international delivered another outstanding performance, scoring in each half and turning provider as the reigning Turkish champions maintained their perfect start to the campaign.
Galatasaray survived an energetic opening from the hosts before taking control of the contest.
Osimhen played a key role in the second goal in the 20th minute, breaking into space before displaying excellent awareness to pick out Yunus Akgün with a perfectly weighted pass. Akgün made no mistake, adding to Roland Sallai's opener to put Galatasaray firmly in command.
The 27-year-old forward then capitalised on a defensive error shortly before half-time. A poor back-pass put Erzurumspor goalkeeper Matija Orbanić under pressure, and Osimhen pounced on the mistake before calmly rolling the ball into an unguarded net to make it 3-0.
Osimhen completed his brace in the 79th minute, displaying his trademark predatory instincts to meet a cross and stab the ball home for Galatasaray's fourth goal.
The performance means Osimhen has now scored consecutive braces in his opening two Süper Lig appearances, having also netted twice in Galatasaray's opening-day victory over Çorum FK.
He has consequently taken his league tally to four goals and one assist from two appearances, establishing himself as an early frontrunner in the race for the Turkish Süper Lig Golden Boot.
Osimhen will have another opportunity to extend his impressive scoring run when Galatasaray host Göztepe on Friday, August 29, in their third league fixture of the season.
