Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, delivered another dominant performance on Saturday, thrashing Guinea 6-0 in Ikenne to seal an emphatic 11-0 aggregate victory and advance to the next round of the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers, BSNSports.com.ng reports
Having already secured a commanding 5-0 win in the first leg, the Flamingos showed no signs of easing off as they overwhelmed their West African opponents once again in front of their home supporters.
The Nigerian side controlled proceedings from the opening whistle, displaying their attacking quality and clinical finishing to add six more goals and complete one of the most convincing aggregate victories of the qualifying campaign.
The result underlines the Flamingos’ status as one of the strongest teams in the African qualifiers as they continue their quest for a place at the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
With the comprehensive victory, Nigeria now progresses to the next round where they will face the U-17 girls of Benin, who also secured qualification after overcoming Sierra Leone in their previous tie.
The Flamingos’ ruthless display against Guinea sends a strong warning to their next opponents, with the Nigerian youngsters proving simply too hot to handle over both legs.
