Nigeria’s Favour Joy Anari has been named in the All-Star Five of the 2026 FIBA U18 Women’s Afrobasket Championship, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Anari earned her place among the tournament’s outstanding players following a strong individual campaign with Nigeria’s Junior D’Tigress.

The Nigerian forward was joined in the prestigious All-Star Five by Mali’s Maimouna Traore and Couda Keita, Cameroon’s Eveyline Toyounon, and Egypt’s Hania Hassabelnaby.

Anari’s recognition provides another highlight for Nigeria despite the Junior D’Tigress falling short of the championship title after losing 77–68 to Mali in the final.

Mali retained the continental crown for a third consecutive time and secured their 10th U18 Women’s Afrobasket title.

Nigeria and Mali also secured qualification to represent Africa at the 2027 FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup in China.
