Nigeria's U-18 boys' hockey team played out a thrilling 7-7 draw against South Africa in their third match at the ongoing 1st U18 Hockey5s Youth Africa Cup (YAC) 2026 in Nairobi, Kenya, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The exciting encounter, played at the Sikh Union Club, saw both teams produce an entertaining attacking display, with Nigeria matching their South African counterparts goal for goal to earn a share of the points.

The result follows Nigeria's impressive 6-2 victory over Ghana earlier in the competition, as the young side continues its campaign in pursuit of qualification for the inaugural FIH Youth Hockey5s World Cup.

The 1st U18 Hockey5s Youth Africa Cup is taking place from August 6 to 8, 2026, at the Sikh Union Club in Nairobi, Kenya, featuring both men's and women's competitions.

The tournament serves as the African qualifying event for the first-ever FIH Youth Hockey5s World Cup, scheduled to take place in December 2026.
