Sampson Adedeji
China have appointed Wang Jun as the new head coach of their U20 women's national team following the dismissal of Colin Bell ahead of the 2026 FIFA U20 Women's World Cup, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The coaching change comes as China step up preparations for the tournament, where they have been drawn in Group F alongside Spain, Nigeria's Falconets, and New Caledonia.
As part of their build-up to the competition, the Chinese Football Association has announced that the team will hold a second training camp from July 6 to July 10, 2026, at the Kunming Haigeng Sports Training Base in Yunnan Province.
The training camp will provide Wang Jun with his first opportunity to work with the squad as China intensify preparations for the global showpiece, with the official list of invited players also released.
China are expected to use the camp to fine-tune tactics and assess player fitness before beginning their Group F campaign against strong opposition, including the Falconets of Nigeria.
