 Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman has expressed delight following Atletico Madrid’s dramatic progression into the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League at the expense of FC Barcelona, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Madrid-based side suffered a 2-1 defeat at home in the second leg, with Lookman netting their only goal of the encounter.

 Despite the loss, Atletico advanced to the last four on a 3-2 aggregate scoreline, having secured a crucial first-leg advantage.

Reacting after the match, Lookman praised his team’s resilience and fighting spirit in what proved to be a closely contested tie.

“Game of two halves, really. We stuck in and dug in and went through to the semis,” Lookman said.

The forward highlighted the importance of composure during key moments of the game, noting that brief pauses in play helped the team regroup and regain focus.

“As the game is going on, you’re playing and moments happen in the game. The pause lets you switch back into gear and we were able to create a few chances.

“We got the goal and we were able to continue in that way in the second half,” he added.

Atletico Madrid will now turn their attention to the semi-finals as they continue their pursuit of European glory.
