Unity Cup: Players Need To Work Hard – Chelle Insists

Despite securing a comfortable victory over the Warriors of Zimbabwe, Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has insisted that his players must continue to work hard, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Nigeria defeated Zimbabwe 2-0 in the semi-final of the Unity Cup in London, thanks to a brace from Femi Azeez.

Speaking during the post-match conference, Chelle stressed that the performance against Zimbabwe was only a step in the team’s rebuilding process ahead of more important assignments.

“This is only a friendly game. This is not the World Cup qualifier. They need to work hard,” Chelle said.

“They need to try to understand what I want, what the technical staff want, and the high level is difficult.

“So you see, we made some mistakes with the ball. For sure, tomorrow we work out,” he added.

The Super Eagles will now shift attention to the final of the Unity Cup as Chelle continues to assess his squad and implement his tactical philosophy.
