Unity Cup Confirmed As FIFA Tier 1 Event Ahead Of Tournament At The Valley

The Unity Cup has officially been confirmed as a FIFA Tier 1 event ahead of next week’s tournament at The Valley in south-east London, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The announcement represents a major milestone for the competition and further strengthens the tournament’s growing international reputation.
This year’s edition of the Unity Cup will feature four national teams Nigeria, Jamaica, India and Zimbabwe competing in two semi-finals before the third-place playoff and final.
Nigeria will face Zimbabwe in the opening semi-final on Tuesday, May 26, while Jamaica will take on India on Wednesday, May 27.
The competition will conclude on Saturday, May 30, with both the third-place match and final scheduled to take place at The Valley, the home ground of Charlton Athletic.
Organisers welcomed the FIFA Tier 1 designation, noting that it ensures all matches played during the tournament will carry full international recognition under FIFA regulations.
The Unity Cup also continues its mission of celebrating football, culture and diaspora communities in London through the international competition.
