Venezia Targets Super Eagles Dele-Bashiru

Super Eagles midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has garnered interest from Venezia, the newly-promoted Serie A club, which is reportedly considering a transfer, reports BSNSports.com.ng.

The Manchester City academy graduate joined Lazio in summer 2024 after a brief but positive stint at Hatayspor in Turkey.

Despite neither Marco Baroni nor Maurizio Sarri having fully unlocked his potential, he has shown sporadic flashes of brilliance over the past two years, scoring seven goals and providing four assists in 57 appearances for Lazio.

Currently, Lazio might be willing to sell the 25-year-old, whose contract runs until summer 2028. According to Lazio insider Damiano Er Faina, Venezia is monitoring Dele-Bashiru.

The Venetians recently returned to Serie A after winning the Serie B title and are strengthening their squad to avoid immediate relegation.

Venezia already signed Lazio midfielder Toma Basic this summer on a free transfer, after the Croatian rejected Claudio Lotito’s last-minute renewal offer. To acquire Dele-Bashiru, Venezia would need to negotiate a deal with Lazio.
