WAFCON 2024: Ajibade Explains Super Falcons’ Ruthless Display Against Zambia

Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, has revealed the motivation behind Nigeria’s emphatic 5-0 victory over Zambia in the quarter-final of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The record nine-time champions were at their dominant best on Friday, sweeping aside the Shepolopolo to book a spot in the semi-finals.

Speaking during the post-match press conference, Ajibade admitted that comments coming out of the Zambian camp ahead of the clash fired up the Nigerian team.

“There was a lot of talk from the Zambia camp and we heard all of it,” she said.

“It was big motivation for us in this game.”

The five-goal rout by Nigeria is the biggest margin of victory recorded so far in this year’s tournament.
