Following Algeria’s exit from the ongoing 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, head coach Farid Benstiti has acknowledged the strength of Nigeria’s Super Falcons, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Algerian team was eliminated on Saturday after a penalty shootout loss to Ghana’s Black Queens.

Reflecting on their campaign, Benstiti emphasized the competitiveness of the tournament and highlighted Nigeria as a dominant force on the continent.

“We can't be completely satisfied with our AFCON performance because we hoped to advance further,” he said.

“But we faced very strong teams, including Nigeria, who remain one of the tournament favourites. Algeria has shown in this competition that it is a team with great potential for the future.”

Despite their exit, Algeria ended the tournament without conceding a single goal.
