Zambia's head coach, Nora Häuptle, has admitted that the Super Falcons were clearly the better team following her side’s crushing 5-0 defeat in the quarter-final of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Super Falcons dominated the encounter at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca on Friday, dismantling a Zambian side that came into the match with high expectations.

Despite boasting a talented squad, the Copper Queens failed to match the intensity and quality of the nine-time African champions.

Nigeria took control early on with goals from Osinachi Ohale, Esther Okoronkwo, and Chiwendu Ihezuo in the first half, before sealing the emphatic win with second-half strikes from Tosin Demehin and Folashade Ijamilusi.

In her post-match reaction, Häuptle conceded defeat, acknowledging Nigeria’s superiority.

“A very clear loss for us. Congratulations to Nigeria on a well-deserved victory. Today, we must accept that Nigeria was simply better than us,” the Swiss tactician stated.
