WAFCON 2024: Okoronkwo Credits Team Spirit For Super Falcons’ Historic Triumph

Super Falcons forward Esther Okoronkwo has attributed Nigeria’s remarkable comeback victory over Morocco to the team’s unwavering spirit, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Nigerian side appeared to be heading for defeat after conceding two goals in the first half to the host nation.

However, the Super Falcons rallied in the second half to secure a thrilling 3-2 win and claim their 10th WAFCON title.

“I am very happy to be a champion… The first-half goals were unfortunate,” Okoronkwo said.

“It happens in football. When we went to the locker room, we gathered our fighting spirit because it was all or nothing. The Moroccan team has chemistry they were a tough side.”
