WAFCON 2026: Ajibade Turns Focus To Quarter-Final After Super Falcons' Progress

Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has shifted her attention to the quarter-finals of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) after Nigeria secured qualification from the group stage, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Ajibade played a key role in Nigeria's emphatic 6-2 victory over Egypt, getting on the scoresheet as the defending champions booked their place in the knockout stage of the tournament.

Reacting after the victory, the PSG forward praised the collective effort of the team and thanked the coaching staff and supporters for their unwavering support.

"What a fight. We made it out of the group stage. This win was about all of us every player who stepped on that pitch, everyone in the squad pushing us on, our crew, technical team, staff, and every single fan back home believing with us.

"That's what collective effort looks like. We fight for each other. Quarter-finals, here we come. The mission continues. The Queens Are Here," Ajibade said.

The Super Falcons will now turn their attention to the quarter-finals as they continue their quest to retain the WAFCON title.
