As preparations intensify ahead of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, Super Falcons head coach Justin Madugu has set his sights on Real Sociedad forward Edna Imade as a potential addition to his squad, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Imade, who is also eligible to represent Spain, has caught the attention of the Nigerian tactician following her impressive form in the Spanish top flight.

Madugu revealed that the federation has made several attempts to establish contact with the player, but she has yet to commit to the Nigerian national team.

“I’ve been following her progress, just like that of many of our players overseas,” Madugu told Nigeria Football.

“I was reliably informed that she was initially enthusiastic about representing Nigeria. Despite our repeated efforts writing to her club and reaching out through some of our players in Spain last season she is yet to make a final decision. Whatever she decides, we respect her choice and wish her the very best,” he added.
