Selected referees for the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco will undergo a special preparation course ahead of the continental showpiece, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The training programme, organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), is scheduled to take place in Cairo, Egypt, from June 25 to June 30, 2026.

The course is aimed at enhancing the technical, physical and tactical readiness of the match officials who have been shortlisted for the tournament.

CAF is expected to use the programme to familiarize referees with the latest officiating guidelines, fitness requirements and tournament expectations as preparations intensify for the competition in Morocco.

The Women's Africa Cup of Nations remains Africa's premier women's football tournament, bringing together the continent's top national teams in a battle for continental glory.
