WAFCON 2026: Super Falcons Group Opponent Begin Preparations In Saudi Arabia

One of the group-stage opponents of Nigeria’s Super Falcons at the upcoming Africa Women's Cup of Nations 2026, Egypt, have stepped up their preparations with a training tour in Saudi Arabia, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Egyptian women’s national team departed Cairo International Airport on Sunday for Saudi Arabia, where they are scheduled to play two international friendly matches against the Saudi national team on April 14 and April 18 in Abha.

Both fixtures will take place at the Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Stadium, with kick-off set for 7:00 PM local time.

 The matches are expected to serve as crucial build-up games as Egypt intensify preparations for the continental tournament.

The team had earlier commenced a closed training camp last Thursday, with the technical crew focusing heavily on tactical organization, including player positioning, as well as improving both defensive solidity and attacking efficiency.

The coaching staff will be aiming to extract maximum technical and physical benefits from the two friendlies as they fine-tune the squad ahead of the competition.

Egypt have been drawn in a challenging Group C alongside nine-time champions Nigeria, Zambia, and Malawi, setting the stage for a competitive battle for qualification to the knockout stages of the tournament.
