WAFCON 2026: Zambia To Camp In Algeria, Face Hosts Ahead Of Super Falcons Clash

The Zambia women's national team, the Copper Queens, will head to Algeria on July 13 for the final phase of their preparations ahead of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

As part of their build-up to the continental tournament, Zambia will play two international friendly matches against Algeria. 

The fixtures are scheduled for July 19 and July 22, with both teams expected to depart for Morocco together on the same flight after the second encounter.

The friendlies are expected to provide the Copper Queens with an opportunity to fine-tune their squad and tactics before the competition kicks off.

Zambia have been drawn in Group B alongside nine-time champions Nigeria's Super Falcons, Malawi and Egypt, setting up a highly competitive battle for qualification to the knockout stage.

The Copper Queens will be hoping to carry their impressive recent form into the tournament as they aim to challenge for the WAFCON title.
