Nigeria has been selected to host the 2026 African Schools Championship for the U-15 category following the unveiling of the West African Football Union Zone B (WAFU B) calendar for the remainder of the year, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

According to the schedule released by the regional football body, the championship will take place from December 6 to December 9, 2026.

The tournament is expected to bring together some of the best young talents from countries within the WAFU B region as part of efforts to promote grassroots football development across West Africa.

Hosting rights for the competition is another boost for Nigeria’s growing reputation as a destination for major football tournaments in the region.

Further details concerning the host city, participating teams, and match venues are expected to be announced by WAFU B and the Nigeria Football Federation in the coming months.
