Wakama Reveals Secret Behind D'Tigress Consistency

Head coach of Nigeria’s senior women’s basketball team, Rena Wakama, has revealed the secret behind the remarkable consistency of Nigeria women's national basketball team in recent years, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Nigerian side has dominated African women’s basketball, winning the FIBA Women's AfroBasket title five consecutive times while also securing qualification for the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup.

D’Tigress are currently competing in the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup Qualifying Tournament and began their campaign on a strong note with a comprehensive victory over Colombia women's national basketball team.

Speaking after the win, Wakama attributed the team’s sustained success to honesty and trust within the squad.

“I’m just honest with my team, we’ve built a level of trust now,” Wakama said.

“I wasn’t worried at all. I’m also proud of my girls for staying resilient and getting it done.”

D’Tigress remain Africa’s most dominant women’s basketball team and will be aiming to maintain their impressive run as the World Cup qualifying tournament continues.
