Why We Signed Bankole – TS Galaxy Coach Explains

TS Galaxy head coach Adnan Beganovic has revealed the reason behind the club’s decision to sign Nigerian goalkeeper Kayode Bankole, BSNSports.com.ng report 

Bankole was officially unveiled by The Rockets on Friday, October 17, joining the Mpumalanga-based side on a free transfer. The 23-year-old had been without a club since August 2025 after parting ways with Remo Stars FC in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL). His arrival marks Galaxy’s 16th signing of the current season under club owner Tim Sukazi.

Before Bankole’s arrival, TS Galaxy already had Ira Tapé as their first-choice goalkeeper, with Sipho Maseti and Nkosingabele Madela providing backup.

Speaking about the signing, Coach Beganovic explained that the club needed more competition in the goalkeeping department to push performance levels higher.

 “He has been with us for about one and a half months. We were looking for a second goalkeeper who could compete with our first-choice,” Beganovic said.

“I always want players in similar positions to compete. I don’t like having just one player in a position who feels too comfortable. Competition during training helps us improve and maintain quality.”

He added that with the right attitude and work ethic, Bankole has the potential to become an important figure for the club.

TS Galaxy currently sit eighth on the Betway Premiership table with 13 points from nine matches.
