World Athletics Championship: Amusan Berates AFN Over Poor Kits

Nigeria National Champion and World Record Holder in women's 100 m hurdles, Tobi Amusan, has berated the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, AFN, for providing poor quality kits to athletes ahead of the World Athletics Championship in Tokyo, Japan, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Amusan expressed her displeasure on her official Social media handle saying: "Nigeria all the other countries dey give their athletes suitcases, see where Nigeria pack kits put for athletes."
She also stressed the need for the AFN to do more in prioritising the welfare of athletes to prevent them from switching allegiance to another country.
"This country is steadily embarrassing, after una go come say make people no switch allegiance, una never ready."
Team Nigeria arrived in Tokyo for the World Athletics Championship with Amusan and Ese Brume leading the team.
Others are: Kanyinsola Ajayi (100m), Israel Okon (100m), Udodi Onwuzurike (200m), Samuel Ogazi (400m), Chidi Okezie (400m), Nathaniel Ezekiel (400mH), Charles Godfred (Long Jump), Chukwuebuka Enekwechi (Shot Put), Rosemary Chukwuma (100m), Prestina Ochonogor (Long Jump), Chioma Onyekwere (Discus), Obiageri Amaechi (Discus) and Oyesade Olatoye (Hammer).
The Competition begins on Saturday, 13th - 21st September, 2025 at the Japan National Stadium.
