Kenya on Wednesday hosted a World Athletics inspection delegation for a site visit to the Nyayo National Stadium and Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi as part of the country’s bid to host the 2029 World Athletics Championships, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The delegation toured the two facilities, inspecting key areas including the athletics tracks, grandstands, and other sporting infrastructure.

Technical teams also presented detailed briefings on Kenya’s level of preparedness, proposed upgrades, and overall hosting capability for the global event.

The inspection forms a crucial part of the evaluation process as Kenya intensifies efforts to secure the hosting rights for the 2029 championships.

Kenya’s bid underlines the nation’s rich athletics tradition and ambition to become the first African country to host the World Athletics Championships.

The East African nation has produced some of the world’s greatest middle and long-distance runners and remains one of the powerhouses of global athletics.
