Ghana's hopes of progressing at the 2026 FIFA World Cup came to an end in the early hours of Saturday after a narrow 1-0 defeat to Colombia in their Round of 32 clash, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Colombia dominated possession for much of the encounter and made their superiority count in the 14th minute when Jhon Arias found the back of the net with the game's only goal.

The Black Stars struggled to create clear-cut chances despite improving after the break, but all their efforts to find an equaliser proved unsuccessful as the South Americans held firm.

The victory sends Colombia into the Round of 16, while Ghana bow out of the tournament after a spirited campaign.

Jhon Arias' early strike ultimately proved enough to separate the two sides and keep Colombia's World Cup dream alive.
