The Congolese Football Federation (FECOFA) has held emergency discussions with FIFA following concerns surrounding the Ebola outbreak ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers involving the Democratic Republic of Congo, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

According to reports, FIFA has now cleared the Leopards delegation to travel after reviewing the necessary health and safety protocols put in place for the team and officials.

The development comes amid growing concerns over travel restrictions and health checks linked to the outbreak in parts of the country.

Discussions are also reportedly ongoing regarding possible ticket refunds for Congolese supporters who were denied United States visas ahead of the competition.

The Leopards remain one of Africa’s contenders for a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup as preparations continue despite the health-related concerns.
