With just a few days to the kickoff of the 2026 World Cup playoffs, confusion and uncertainty have gripped the camp of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) is reportedly considering placing the team under the temporary control of assistant coach Martin Mpile Ndtoungou, following the unexplained absence of head coach Marc Brys.
According to multiple reports from Yaoundé, Brys has yet to report to camp or communicate his whereabouts to the federation, raising serious concerns about the team’s readiness for the crucial qualifiers.
If FECAFOOT confirms the interim arrangement, Ndtoungou will be tasked with finalizing the squad list and leading the team through their upcoming fixtures.
This development adds to the growing tension within the Cameroonian football scene, as the federation continues to face internal disputes and pressure from fans to ensure a stable and competitive team ahead of the playoffs.
