Flying Eagles winger Success Makanjuola has appealed to Nigerians on their lacklustre performance at the 2019 FIFA U20 World Cup in Poland.
Nigeria's U-20 Winger Success Makanjuola who was substituted in the late minutes of the match against Ukraine which ended in a 1 all draw, said he believes his best is yet to come in the tournament adding that the team was a bit nervous at the beginning of the game because they were playing for an outright win while the Ukrainian side needed only a draw to be through to the next round having qualified.
“ It was so unfortunate that we conceded a goal first. We had a chance to equalize with a penalty but we missed that. Luckily another chance presented itself and we took it and it has given us progression to the next round.

He added that he wants to give his best and wants to play good football as he is so sure his performance so far in the tournament was far from his best.
The Water FC player concluded by saying, “let’s see how the second round of the tournament goes. Qualifying for best loser was not the plan but we give God the glory.”
