Former Super Eagles striker terminates contract with Tunisian club side

Former Nigerian international, Christian Obiozor has ended his relationship with the Tunisian based club, Stade Gabesien following the club's relegation to the second division.

Obiozor who joined Gabesien last season played 10 matches and scored three goals during his stint with the side.

The former Enugu Rangers and Enyimba forward was earlier denied a move to join Ukrainian top side, Dynamo Kiev as Gabesein wanted him to see out his contract with them.

The Super Eagles forward however refused to go down with the club and opted to end his deal midway.

Asked of his experience in the Tunisian league, the former U23 Eagles' attacker said it was challenging but has said playing is the North Africa has made him become a better player.

"I picked up more lessons there as a player and as a person, its a tough league in Tunisia with fantastic clubs you have to be at your best week in week out, I could have stayed longer had we escaped relegation but I want to move up in my career not going down but I wish them well.

"I believe it was because of the love they have for me that's why they didn't want me to leave but I've been able to end the relationship in peace now, I've got my release papers sorted with them and I'm looking forward to fresh challenge, my agent is working on something which I will let it cool for now, we'll see how it goes."

Obiozor who played for Nigeria' U23 and Super Eagles between 2013 and 2015 said he has not rule out a return to play for his country.

"You never can say never, I believe its possible, what's important is for me to keep doing well in my club side and be positive about whatever that comes and what is to come," he said.
