Succour came in the sixty sixth (66th) minute for the homers when Oginni Olatunbosun was charged from behind in the box by John Marshal and the centre referee signal a spot kick in favour of Crown FC. Francis Olanrewaju, the new entrant for Bode Daniel in the forty eighth (48th) converted the spot kick to put the Ajilete Warriors in the lead. Not satisfied with the goal margin, the Ajilete Warriors intensified pressure and this saw the game being played in the guests half throughout with occasional counter from Ibom Youths FC.
