Kelechi Nwakali has charged the Golden Eaglets to be one of the team that will represent Africa at the World Cup by picking one of the tickets to the mundial at the oncoming U17 African Nations Cup in Tanzania.
The Eaglets will fly out of the country on Wednesday for Tanzania ahead of the CAF U17 AFCON.
“Hard work doesn’t kill, rather it pays,” said Nwakali when he addressed the Nigeria U17s.
“You should work hard, be disciplined and listen to your coaches and officials.
“You should not play individual football, but play as a team so as to first qualify for the World Cup.
“The big dream is to win the AFCON as a team and as a country.”
He also narrated his own experience when injury cost him to miss the 2013 U17 World Cup only to lead the country to win the 2015 edition in style.
“Injury cost me to miss the 2013 World Cup, but two years later, I captained the team to win the competition and I was named the MVP,” he recounted.
Nigeria U15 star Nwachukwu Divine, who has been drafted to the Eaglets, promised Nwakali on behalf of the squad that they will do Nigeria proud in Tanzania.
