Suleja Local Government Lifts 2019 Niger State Governor's Cup - Latest Sports in Nigeria

Con. Sani Bello Vocational Training Center Football Pitch was the place of attraction this weekend as creme de la creme of Niger State Football and dignitaries from far and wide gathered to witness this years Governors Cup Final which pitched 13 times champions Chanchaga and 10 times winners Suleja Local government football teams.
After an explosive ninety minutes of goalless football contest Suleja Local Government carted home with the giant trophy having defeated hard fighting Chanchaga football team 5-4 via penalty shoot out winning the title for the 11th time.
To reach the finals Chanchaga defeated Kontagora while Suleja edged out Katcha local government all via penalties.
Present at the finals includes the President of Nigeria Football Federation Mr. Amaju Melvin Pinnick who was represented by Suleiman Yahaya Kwande NFF's director of Communication, the State F A Chairman Comr. Ahmed Yusuf Fresh who is the host, representative of the Governor of Niger State, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Barr. Abdulmalik Sarkin Daji, Commissioner of Youth and Sports Development Mr. Emmanuel Umar also represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Dr. Gana Mohammed.
Others are the Chairman Niger Tornadoes Management Committee Hon. Adamu Aliyu, Executive Board Members of Niger State Football Association and Chairmen of Chanchaga and Suleja Local Governments Hon Ibrahim Abubakar Bosso (Lalalo) and Hon. Abdullahi Shauibu Maje, President of Nigeria Football Coaches Association Isa Ladan Bosso among others too numerous to mention.
Speaking shortly after the final match, the Chairman Niger State Football Association Comrade Ahmed Yusuf Fresh expressed satisfaction with the level of competativeness of this years tournament attributing the feat to the organizers of the of competition led by the first Vice Chairman Alh. Yabagi A.B Baba for doing a yeoman's job.
He described this years final as one of the best to be witnessed in recent memory, saying the tournament is another platform for discovering hidden talent adding that as the Chairman Technical Committee NFF he has spotted some players in the competition who have bright future ahead of them, if well nurtured.
At the end of the finals prizes were distributed to deserving players for their stand out performance through out the competition and personalities who have contributed immensely to the development of football in the State.
